HistFest Keynote: Standing as the gateway between the East and West, Istanbul has served as the capital of the Roman, Byzantine, Latin and Ottoman Empires. Historian and broadcaster Bettany Hughes draws upon this rich and varied history to tell the 6,000-year story of Istanbul.

The keynote event will also include an exclusive musical performance and a look back at the most important history stories of the past year.
